Destroying the Rose – Poem

Why did you ever set eyes on the lone Rose,

When you had a garden full of blooms to choose from.
Blooms are your natural habitat,

With their luxurious colors and intoxicating scent,

It’s what you are accustomed to.

You only wanted to try a different flower,

Because you’re like all the rest.
You’ll rip off each thorn, pluck the Rose for its innocent beauty.
But you ignore the thorns because you only see what you want to see.
And then you’ll destroy the rose.

Because some roses never know who is the one to remove the thorns.

Because you are the Thorne, and I am the Rose.

I am still bleeding inside.
